A few years ago, Brett Helquist (Series of Unfortunate Events) approached Valerie and I about doing a middle grade fiction book together. In-between other projects, we’ve finally written a comedy loosely based on my childhood shenanigans of riding bikes, being chased on those bikes, and talking my way out of lots of trouble. Like setting a field on fire trouble.
This page is a sample of the humor and tone of our project. It’s currently repped at Foundry Literary & Media.
I’ve adapted the book Walden by Henry David Thoreau for the stage. Or rather, the lie that is the book Walden by Henry David Thoreau. It’s an ensemble dramedy about the Transcendentalists set at Thoreau’s cabin that’s barely in the woods and which he barely lived in. It’s called “Fast Times at Walden Pond” and this is a page from my latest draft.
It’s going through readings and revisions currently. More news to come on it.
We have a live-action comedy pilot being shopped by Bold Soul Studios in LA. Valerie and I wrote the pilot together and we’ve partnered with friend and American Idol & The Voice star Jon Peter Lewis. As with all pilots, we can’t say much about it but I thought I’d post a spoiler-less script page.
I’ve said it a thousand times - “I’m not going to do a podcast unless I have a REALLY GREAT IDEA”
Well, two things happened. One of my favorite great ideas - a show I pitched years ago as an Adult Swim comedy - resurfaced in my brain.
And I reconnected with a lot of my funniest and closest friends over the pandemic.
I’m not revealing too much yet but the show is called “SECRET TOWN” and it’s coming in 2023.
Here are some spoiler free hints. Prepare thine ears.
